    • 2005-2008年款道奇Magnum(15V313、16V352)
    • 2006-2015年款道奇Charger(15V313、16V352、18V021、19V018)
    • 2007-2009年款克莱斯勒Aspen(15V313、16V352、16V947、18V021)
    • 2008-2014年款道奇Challenger(15V444、16V352、18V021、19V018)
    • 2006-2009年款三菱Raider(15V313、16V352)

    车主可访问 NHTSA.gov/Recalls 网站查询自己的车辆是否在召回范围内。

Stellantis issues “do not drive” warning for 225,000 vehicles with unrepaired Takata air bags

    February 11, 2026 / 5:11 PM EST / CBS News

Stellantis issued a “do not drive” alert on Wednesday to owners of certain Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles, with the automaker warning people not to use the cars until defective air bags are replaced.

Stellantis said roughly 225,000 of its U.S. vehicles contain unrepaired air bags, according to an online notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The air bags were made were made by Takata, a Japanese automotive parts supplier.

“This action is intended to accelerate the repair of the remaining affected vehicles to safeguard owners, their families and the general public from the risk of serious injury or death,” Stellantis said in a statement. “Over time, the chemical propellant inside certain Takata inflators can degrade, particularly in hot and humid conditions, increasing the risk of rupture during airbag deployment and the potential for metal fragments to enter the vehicle cabin.”

The affected vehicles are as follows:

    • 2003–2010 Dodge Ram (15V312,15V313,16V352,16V947,18V021,19V018)
    • 2004–2009 Dodge Durango (15V313,16V352,16V947,18V021)
    • 2005–2011 Dodge Dakota (15V313,16V352,18V021,19V018)
    • 2005–2008 Dodge Magnum (15V313,16V352)
    • 2006–2015 Dodge Charger (15V313,16V352,18V021,19V018)
    • 2007–2009 Chrysler Aspen (15V313,16V352,16V947,18V021)
    • 2008–2014 Dodge Challenger (15V444,16V352,18V021,19V018)
    • 2005–2015 Chrysler 300 (15V313,16V352,18V021,19V018)
    • 2007–2016 Jeep Wrangler (16V352,18V021,19V018)
    • 2006–2009 Mitsubishi Raider (15V313,16V352)

“If you have one of these vehicles, do not drive it until the repair is completed and the defective air bag is replaced,” NHTSA said on its website.

Stellantis, based in the Netherlands, owns Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and several European car brands.

To date, 67 million defective Takata air bags have been recalled in what NHTSA previously referred to as “the largest and most complex safety recall in U.S. history.” The agency said at least 28 people have been killed and 400 injured by exploding Takata air bags.

“Even minor crashes can result in exploding Takata air bags that can kill or produce life-altering, gruesome injuries,” the safety agency said in its notice on Wednesday.

NHTSA said vehicle owners can visit NHTSA.gov/Recalls to check if their vehicle is part of the recall.

Senators question why US agency pushed out officials working on Chinese threats

    February 11, 2026 9:19 PM UTC / Reuters

WASHINGTON, Feb 11 (Reuters) – Two Democratic senators asked the Commerce Department to explain why it removed an official and her deputy whose office had effectively barred nearly all Chinese cars from entering the U.S. market on national security grounds.

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Mark Warner pressed Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in a letter seen by Reuters to answer questions on reports the department pushed out “key national security officials who were working to counter China’s intelligence and cyber threats against American technology supply chains and communications infrastructure.”

Reuters reported Elizabeth Cannon in January had agreed to resign as executive director for Information and Communications Technology and Services, an office created in 2022 to investigate threats to the supply chain from foreign adversaries.

The senators said that diminishing the office “and now pushing out its leadership, sends a clear signal that truly standing up to China is not a priority of this administration.”

Cannon and the Commerce Department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The office is responsible for efforts aimed at bolstering U.S. cyber defenses in response to cyberattacks like Salt Typhoon, the senators said, adding the loss of the officials “strips this office of the leadership and institutional expertise required to defend the United States against escalating national security and cyber threats.”

Reuters first reported last month the Commerce Department was withdrawing a plan to impose restrictions on Chinese drones to address national security concerns after an earlier crackdown on passenger cars and trucks. Those restrictions effectively bar Chinese vehicles from the U.S. market.

The department also quietly shelved plans to impose similar restrictions on heavy trucks and buses.

The senators said the work of the office, along with probes of other Chinese issues and telecoms, has stalled under Lutnick’s tenure. “In addition, ongoing actions against Chinese state-owned telecommunications companies, China Telecom and China Unicom, may be on hold despite the fact their presence in the United States may leave users’ personal data exposed to theft and disruption.

(Breanne Deppisch)

Prosecutor who left Minnesota office amid anti-ICE unrest joins Don Lemon defense team

The ex-US prosecutor will appear alongside Lemon in federal court on Friday

    Fox News

    Published February 11, 2026 4:19pm EST

A longtime federal prosecutor who left the U.S. attorney’s office in Minnesota last month amid a wave of resignations linked to concerns over the Trump administration’s handling of anti-ICE agitators has joined former CNN anchor Don Lemon’s defense team, court filings show.

Joseph H. Thompson, a former senior leader in the Minnesota U.S. attorney’s office before he resigned, will now defend Lemon alongside Abbe Lowell, bringing firsthand experience from the same federal district prosecuting the case. Lowell is a well-known defense attorney who has sparred with the Trump administration in a number of high-profile cases in the past year alone, representing New York Attorney General Letitia James, Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa Cook and former National Security Adviser John Bolton.

Lemon will fight these charges “vigorously and thoroughly” in court, Lowell told Fox News Digital last month.

According to a formal notice of appearance, Thompson will appear alongside Lemon in federal court Friday for an arraignment and initial court appearance in the Minnesota federal district.

Lemon, who describes himself as an independent journalist, was arrested last month for his alleged involvement in the storming of Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, by anti-ICE agitators. Eight others were also arrested and charged in an event that Attorney General Pam Bondi described at the time as a “coordinated attack.”

“Make no mistake, under President Trump’s leadership and this administration, you have the right to worship freely and safely,” Bondi said in a video posted to social media. “And if I haven’t been clear already, if you violate that sacred right, we are coming after you.”

Thompson is one of roughly 14 federal prosecutors who resigned from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota since January — a mass exodus many have attributed to the Justice Department’s handling of the unrest in Minnesota. He was one of five U.S. prosecutors who resigned from the office shortly after the fatal shooting of Renee Good and concerns over DOJ’s handling of the case.

“It was an honor and privilege to serve as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in both the District of Minnesota and Northern District of Illinois,” Thompson said on LinkedIn to announce his departure. He did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment on the news that he will represent Lemon.

Thompson previously spent 11 years at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota, including in key leadership roles. He served as the acting U.S. attorney for the district through October 2025 and headed up the fraud and public corruption section for the federal district.

MINNESOTA DRAGS TRUMP’S ICE TO COURT IN EFFORT TO PAUSE IMMIGRATION CRACKDOWN

Lemon was charged with conspiracy to deprive the rights of others and a FACE Act violation related to his alleged involvement with the anti-ICE disruption at Cities Church.

The group was seen chanting “ICE out,” according to video footage, and interrupting a worship service.

Lemon was released without bail on Jan. 30. The FACE Act, passed in 1994, is a federal law that prohibits the use of force, intimidation, or obstruction to deliberately “injure, intimidate, or interfere” with an individual’s ability to exercise their right to religious freedom at a place of worship.

FACE Act violations carry penalties ranging from fines to prison time, depending on the severity of the violation alleged and other contributing factors.

Because the FACE Act classifies a first-time violation involving the use of force or physical obstruction as a misdemeanor, Lemon could face a maximum of one year in federal prison if prosecutors seek those charges.

Lowell has argued the case against Lemon is an “unprecedented attack” on the First Amendment, and an attempt by the Justice Department to chill free speech protections.

And Lemon, for his part, said he had been attending the demonstration in a reporting capacity.

In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Lemon remarked, “I’m just here photographing, I’m not part of the group … I’m a journalist.”

CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

“I went there to chronicle and document and record,” Lemon told Jimmy Kimmel in an interview last week, adding, “There is a difference between a protester and a journalist.”

Lowell echoed this claim. “Don has been a journalist for 30 years, and his constitutionally protected work in Minneapolis was no different than what he has always done.”

U.S. Olympic skier Breezy Johnson has plans for her broken and repaired gold medal

    February 11, 2026 / 3:46 PM EST / CBS News

American skier Breezy Johnson told CBS News she’s been treating her replacement gold medal with care after the original, which she won in the women’s downhill event at the 2026 Winter Games in Italy on Saturday, broke.

“I think that because they were so heavy, the ribbons couldn’t really hold them,” Johnson said, calling it “a little disappointing” that Olympic medal winners had to be careful about celebrating too enthusiastically, as it’s “all anybody wants to do.”

Johnson said she was initially told she wouldn’t get her original medal back, but it has been fixed, and she plans to keep it and trade in the replacement. She also plans to knit a special pouch to keep it safe.

“I am an avid knitter,” Johnson told CBS News correspondent Seth Doane on Wednesday. “I knit a new hat or headband for every race. It’s a big superstition of mine.”

She only wears her special handknit race accessories once, for their respective race, after which they are retired.

“They’re piling up in my bags, but I’ve been wanting for a long time to, like, auction some of them off and, like, have people buy them and donate the proceeds to charity,” she said. “I don’t have anything else to do with them.”

Team USA’s Breezy Johnson shows her gold medal in the alpine ski women’s downhill race on Feb. 8, 2026. Andy Wong / AP

Asked about her views on representing the United States, given political debate around the Games, Johnson declined to go down that slope.

“There’s been a lot of rhetoric. I personally prefer to focus on my skiing. I personally don’t know anybody who has changed their political affiliation because of something that any celebrity or person said. So, I personally prefer to focus on my skiing and donate the money that I make to charities that I feel are actually doing the work that I support.”

Despite winning the first gold medal for Team USA in Italy, the Milano-Cortina Winter Games haven’t been a total success story for Johnson.

She failed to make the podium after skiing with teammate Mikaela Shiffrin in the team slalom event Tuesday. After the race, Johnson could be seen speaking with Shiffrin, delivering what looked like a pep talk.

“I said, ‘I know you tried your best and it’s gonna be OK,’” Johnson told CBS News of the private chat. “I don’t, like, hold any of that against anyone because I know this sport. There’s so many variables, and there were variables yesterday, too. They weren’t necessarily in our favor, and we went out and we both gave it our all, and it didn’t happen, but that’s OK.”

Johnson said she’s generally pretty good at coping with the pressure of competing at the highest level of her sport — and she understands that such competition, and such extreme speeds, come with extreme danger.

After Team USA’s Lindsay Vonn was injured in a fall in the downhill race Saturday, which Johnson went on to win, she said her 41-year-old world champion teammate texted her.

“She said, ‘congratulations,’” Johnson said. “You know, I know what she’s going through is hard, and I think she’s dealing with a lot. So, we haven’t spoken, like, on the phone or anything, but I wish her the best.”

Johnson said she also understands what drove Vonn to compete in these Games just a week after rupturing her ACL.

“Part of what breaks your heart is that you’re used to defying the odds. You’re used to writing fairytale endings. And the reality is that those things get made into movies because they’re so unlikely. And unfortunately, you can’t always — it’s not always like the movies,” she said.

“It’s difficult to understand what moves people to do it, but when you’re doing it well, it’s a pretty incredible feeling,” Johnson said, adding that spectators can share in the rush: “It’s Formula One on ice with giant knives. Who doesn’t want to watch that?”

‘Seditious Six’ Dem lawmakers probed by Trump threaten legal battle

House Democrat threatens legal action following failed sedition probe over video urging troops to refuse illegal orders

    Published February 11, 2026 5:09pm EST

The six Democrats who urged U.S. service members to “refuse illegal orders” are threatening a legal battle with President Donald Trump over what they see as a “weaponization” of the Department of Justice (DOJ).

On Wednesday, four House Democrats — Reps. Jason Crow, D-Colo., Maggie Goodlander, D-N.H., Chrissy Houlahan, D-Pa., and Chris Deluzio, D-Pa. — hinted they had prepared for a case of their own after they escaped an indictment Tuesday evening.

“Yesterday, the Trump Department of Justice tried and failed to indict us on criminal charges based on a video that we filmed last year, simply reminding our fellow service members to follow the law and the Constitution,” Crow said. “They failed, and they will always fail.”

REPUBLICAN COMBAT VETERANS URGE TROOPS TO ‘STAND STRONG’ AFTER DEMOCRATS’ ‘ILLEGAL ORDERS’ MESSAGE

Rep. Brian Crow, D-Colo., told CBS’ “Face The Nation” why it was important to warn U.S. troops about handling President Trump’s “unlawful” orders.(Tom Williams/Getty)

“We are taking names,” Crow said. “We are creating lists. My lawyers just sent a letter today to the Department of Justice, putting them on notice that there will be costs.”

Crow did not expand on what kind of suit he would pursue.

The “seditious six,” as Secretary of War Pete Hegseth coined for the group of military veteran Democrats, posted a video to social media in November 2025 urging service members to ignore commands that violated the Constitution.

“Like us, you all swore an oath to protect and defend this Constitution. Right now, the threats coming to our Constitution aren’t just coming from abroad but from right here at home,” they urged. “Our laws are clear. You can refuse illegal orders. You must refuse illegal orders. No one has to carry out orders that violate the law or our Constitution.”

In response, the Department of Justice launched a probe of the group, weighing whether their calls had amounted to sedition.

After those charges fell flat Tuesday, Democrats in the Senate who had also participated in the video similarly blasted the DOJ’s probe.

WASHINGTON DEMOCRAT SAYS HE BELIEVES TRUMP ISSUED ILLEGAL ORDERS TO THE MILITARY

Sen. Slotkin came under fire from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth after sharing a video urging troops to defy “illegal” orders.(Getty Images)

“This is outrageous,” said Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz. “I want to be clear about something. This is not a good news story. This is a story about how Donald Trump and his cronies are trying to break our system in order to silence anyone who lawfully speaks out against them.”

Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., who also appeared in the video, echoed Kelly’s framing.

“The president has used our justice system to weaponize (it) against his perceived enemies,” Slotkin said. “I think that we’ve come to a really sad moment in America, where the paradigm of leadership has become completely reversed in 2026. Instead of looking to our elected leaders, like the president, as setting an example, it is now up to individual citizens in their private capacity to uphold the values of democracy, free speech, liberty, justice.”

When asked how he would distinguish between political prosecution and a good-faith effort to uphold the law, Crow pointed to past statements from the administration but declined to offer a litmus test for future cases.

“I’ve learned to take Donald Trump’s words and to listen to him,” Crow said. “He actually came right out and said what he thought about this, and said this is because he wants to silence political opposition. So let’s actually just listen to what the man says.”

Trump has accused the six lawmakers of being “traitors” who engaged in “sedition at the highest level” and “should be in jail.”

He even had suggested they should be executed over the video, although he later retracted that comment.

Crow declined to answer questions about when he would press his legal strategy and hinted that it might depend on what Trump does next.

“So that’s actually a ball that’s in the Trump administration’s court,” Crow said. “We’ve been very clear about our position and that it needs to stop. If it doesn’t stop, then we’ll take all necessary actions.”

The Department of Justice did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Legendary boxer Mike Tyson found himself in a new arena on Wednesday as he stood with Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, partnering with the Trump administration to fight obesity.

“I had a sister that died at 25 from obesity. And where I come from, Brownsville, Brooklyn, is the most violent, poverty-stricken neighborhood in the city of New York and ultra-processed food was just the norm,” Tyson said. “We didn’t have much money, but we had food stamps, and food stamps can buy you the candy, the sugar and all that soda and all that rotten stuff.”

FOODS THAT AMERICANS WERE TOLD TO AVOID FOR DECADES ARE BACK UNDER TRUMP’S NEW NUTRITION RULES

Kennedy and Rollins were providing updates on the rollout of the government’s new dietary guidelines, which were unveiled in January. During the event on Wednesday, several speakers, including Tyson, spoke about the dangers of ultra-processed food and the need to get Americans to shift their diets toward real food.

“We were able to reduce hundreds of pages of dietary guidelines… to about six pages, but it’s just three words: Eat real food,” Kennedy said to the crowd as he closed the event. “I ask you all to start doing that today if you’re not already doing it.”

PEOPLE LOST WEIGHT WHILE EATING SIGNIFICANTLY MORE FOOD — HERE’S THE SECRET

Tyson said that when he went to work with a trainer in upstate New York, he was given the tools to keep his health in check. While he admits that he can “fool around” and get “lazy,” leading to gaining 20-40 pounds, he says the tools he learned have allowed him to lose weight fast.

“This is the biggest fight of my life,” Tyson added. “I want to be a hero in this particular field because it affects my life.”

The event comes just days after the airing of an ad during the Super Bowl in which Tyson speaks about the importance of tackling the U.S.’s reliance on processed food. In the ad, Tyson also speaks about his sister, Denise, who died at the age of 25 from an obesity-linked heart attack.

The legendary boxer posted the video on his Facebook page, and said it was “the most important fight of my life.”

“The most important fight of my life isn’t in the ring. I’m not fighting for a belt. I’m fighting for our health. Processed foods are killing us. We have been lied to, and we need to eat real food again,” Tyson wrote.

Kennedy’s focus, even during his own 2024 presidential campaign, has been the rise of chronic illness in the U.S., which he believes is linked to an increased consumption of ultra-processed foods. The guidelines that he and Rollins unveiled in January effectively flip the already outdated food pyramid, moving protein, dairy, health fats, fruits and vegetables to the wide top of the inverted triangle, while relegating whole grains to the narrow bottom.

“Better health begins on your plate — not in your medicine cabinet. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2025-2030 put real, whole, nutrient-dense foods back where they belong: at the center of health,” the government website on the guidelines, RealFood.gov, reads.

The protein target in the new guidelines is “1.2–1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day.” Additionally, the guidance recommends Americans consume three servings of vegetables and two servings of fruits every day. Meanwhile, it is recommended that Americans eat two to four servings of whole grains daily, although it specifies that refined carbohydrates are not recommended.

Some job-seekers are paying thousands of dollars just to land an interview

    2026-02-11 / CBS News

Looking for work but struggling to land a job interview? Money might help.

Some job seekers are paying recruiters to help get a foot in the door, a practice known as “reverse recruitment” in which agencies act as agents or matchmakers for people seeking employment.

Liz Bentley, a New York-based executive coach, said even top-tier candidates are having to work harder to stand out as AI and other technologies make it easy for job candidates to bombard employers with their credentials.

“College graduates are having a hard time getting jobs. MBAs from top schools aren’t getting jobs. We are seeing white-collar layoffs, and employers are pausing hiring,” she told CBS News. “Even when jobs are lost, they are not necessarily filling them.”

“When companies pay recruiters, it’s because talent is scarce,” Bentley added. “When candidates pay them, it’s because jobs are scarce.”

    How much does it cost?

Alex Shinkarovsky, the founder of Reverse Recruiting Agency, said demand for his firm’s services has surged. That’s in part because of how long it can take to navigate the job-search process. It takes an average of more than 24 weeks to find a new job in the U.S., according to the latest federal labor data, up from the 22 weeks a year ago.

Shinkarovsky said he can cut that timeframe nearly in half — his clients typically receive a job offer within 12.5 weeks, he told CBS News. “Our north star metric is to get clients interviews,” he told CBS News.

That comes at a hefty cost. Reverse Recruiting Agency charges job seekers $1,500 per month, while guaranteeing them a minimum of nine job interviews in three months. If a client accepts a job, the firm also collects a 10% commission on the new hire’s annual salary and refunds the first month’s $1,500 fee.

For example, someone who landed a job with an annual income of $100,000 would pay a total of $13,000 — that encompasses a $10,000 commission and $3,000 in monthly fees.

Still, the math can be more attractive than six months of unemployment, especially for employees commanding higher salaries. James Whittaker, co-founder and CEO of another reverse recruiting firm, Ambitious Exec, said a candidate applying for a job online has only a 1% to 2% change of getting an interview.

That’s in part due to the sheer volume of applications companies receive, especially as AI tools make it easier for people to mass apply for jobs.

“It is so easy to apply to a job these days that good candidates are getting lost in the sea of competition,” he told CBS News, adding that reverse recruiting services make the most sense for people in senior-level roles.

    An unfair edge?

Adam Fineberg, founder and CEO of My Personal Recruiter, said his firm charges between $900 and $2,500 a month. But the service can typically winnow a job search by roughly 50% and help clients land a position within two or three months, he said.

A potential downside to the reverse-recruitment model? Job candidates who can’t afford to spring for this kind of help could find themselves at a disadvantage, Bentley said.

“It could introduce more inequality to the job search process,” she said. “Candidates who can afford the service have a leg up on those who cannot.”

Some career services pros also oppose the practice on principle, questioning the value of reverse recruitment services.

“You should never pay anyone to get you a job,” career consultant Jennifer Mastor, founder of Mastor Recruiting and Consulting, told CBS News.

President Donald Trump is hosting an event at the White House Wednesday to tout how “Clean Beautiful Coal,” he says, is America’s most reliable and affordable energy source.

The president will be joined by Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum for Wednesday’s event, which is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time in the White House’s East Room.

The White House told Fox News Digital Tuesday that a number of governors and members of Congress also were invited to attend the event.

“Beautiful, clean coal is critical to ensuring American families and businesses have the energy they need, while simultaneously driving down electricity costs across the country,” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers told Fox News Digital. “President Trump’s commonsense approach is unleashing America’s most reliable and affordable energy source, saving thousands of good-paying jobs, and turning the page on Joe Biden’s energy crisis.”

The event is set to highlight how coal is a “reliable and affordable energy source that keeps the lights on during times of peak demand,” the White House said.

The president is set to sign the “Strengthen the United States National Defense with America’s Beautiful Clean Coal Power Generation Fleet” executive order Wednesday during the event — a new initiative for the Department of War to purchase electricity from coal-powered plants.

That order directs Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to enter into power purchasing agreements with coal-fired power plants to ensure that the Department of War has reliable power to strengthen the U.S. grid.

Also during the event, the president will announce that the Department of Energy will award funds to five coal plants to recommission and upgrade facilities in West Virginia, Ohio, North Carolina and Kentucky.

A White House official told Fox News Digital that it will be the first of “many more announcements” related to awarding funds to coal plants across the nation.

“Since the President has returned to office his relentless support for the coal industry has been felt,” a White House official told Fox News Digital. “Coal production is up, new mines have been (opened), existing mines are being expanded, coal plants are continuing to run, and NEDC is working with a few companies to help build new coal generation units — which hasn’t happened since 2013.”

The official pointed to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, which logged that during the first two quarters of 2025 an additional 12.2 million tons of coal were produced than in the first two quarters of 2024, representing a 5% increase.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt previewed the event, saying the president “will discuss how Clean Beautiful Coal is not only keeping the lights on but also driving down the cost of electricity across our country.”

Also during the event, the Washington Coal Club is set to name Trump the “Undisputed Champion of Coal.”

The event comes after the Trump administration, in January, reinstated the National Coal Council, comprised of dozens of stakeholders from energy firms, utilities, governmental and tribal interests, saying that no industry affects Americans’ lives more.

The council is now chaired by Peabody Energy CEO Jim Grech and Core Natural Resources Chairman Jimmy Brock. The council was reinstated four years after then-President Joe Biden dissolved the decades-old consortium.

It also comes after the Energy Department announced $625 million would be put toward reinvigorating the U.S. coal industry in response to Trump’s executive order calling for such, and another directive to “strengthen the reliability and security of the U.S. energy grid.”

Wright’s office said in a release that the administration has saved more than 15 gigawatts of coal-powered electricity, in part through relaunching the council.

In July 2025, a Department of Energy analysis found that the loss of coal-fired power plants would make grid reliability unsustainable, while also finding that 100 gigawatts more peak-hour supply is needed by 2030.
