President Donald Trump said he will sign an executive order to address airport disruptions, announcing the move in a Truth Social post Thursday that framed the situation as a national emergency.

“Because the Democrats have recklessly created a true National Crisis, I am using my authorities under the Law to protect our Great Country,” Trump wrote. “Therefore, I am going to sign an Order … to immediately pay our TSA Agents in order to address this Emergency Situation.”

The move comes as a 41-day partial government shutdown has disrupted the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), causing long lines at airports nationwide amid a standoff over DHS funding and immigration enforcement.

Trump accused Democrats of “refusing to fund Immigration Enforcement” and creating “Chaos at the Airports,” while thanking TSA agents for their work.

Trump’s signature will be featured on U.S. paper currency, a presidential first, Treasury says

The Treasury Department plans to add President Trump’s signature to new U.S. paper currency, an unprecedented move for a sitting president, the department announced Thursday.

The addition of Mr. Trump’s signature to paper currency will honor the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence this year, the department said.

“There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S dollar bills bearing his name,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement. The change will roll out this year, but few other details were immediately released.

Mr. Trump’s signature will appear alongside Bessent’s, the department said. U.S. paper currency has traditionally carried the signatures of Treasury officials.

U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach said in a statement that the unprecedented move to add the president’s signature “is not only appropriate, but also well deserved.”

The announcement comes after this month’s approval of a final design for a 24-karat gold commemorative coin featuring Mr. Trump’s likeness to mark America’s 250th birthday on July 4. Federal officials have also floated the idea of a $1 coin featuring Mr. Trump’s image.

Since the start of his second term, the president has sought to attach his name and image to various institutions, including the renaming of the Kennedy Center performing arts venue to the Trump-Kennedy Center. Mr. Trump’s name was also added to the U.S. Institute of Peace building in December.

US paper currency will soon feature President Donald Trump’s signature going forward, the US Treasury Department announced Thursday, the latest of the president’s [efforts to leave his mark] across the federal government.

It will be the first time a sitting US president’s signature has appeared on paper notes. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the move is in honor of the [250th anniversary] of the United States.

“There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S dollar bills bearing his name, and it is only appropriate that this historic currency be issued at the Semiquincentennial,” Bessent said in a [press release]announcing the move.

CNN has reached out the White House and Treasury for additional details.

Trump’s likeness is set to appear on a variety of other 250th anniversary materials issued by the government. Earlier this month, Trump’s handpicked Commission of Fine Arts approved a large commemorative gold coin featuring an image of the president standing with his hands balled into fists on a desk.

The commission is also reviewing a proposed $1 coin featuring Trump. Those plans have raised legal questions because it’s against US law to display the image of a sitting president or living former president. A president may be featured on a coin [no sooner than two years following the president’s death].

A sitting president is not prohibited from appearing on commemorative coins. Democrats in Congress have [introduced legislation] to prohibit any living or sitting president from being featured on any US currency.

In his second term, the Trump administration has pressed on with efforts to plaster his name throughout the government. The government has launched [TrumpRx], a website for prescription drugs, in addition to the [Trump Gold Card], which gives holders the right to live and work in the US and a path to citizenship for a high price.

President Trump said Thursday he will sign an executive order to restart pay for Transportation Security Administration officers, who have gone more than a month without a full paycheck — leading to thousands of absences and long lines at major U.S. airports.

Mr. Trump did not say what legal authority he intends to use. TSA agents have gone without pay because appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security lapsed in February.

President Donald Trump said Thursday he is pausing planned strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure for 10 days as negotiations continue, setting a new deadline of April 6.

“As per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 P.M., Eastern Time,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The president added that “talks are ongoing” and claimed they are progressing positively “despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media, and others.”

Judge blocks Pentagon from labeling Anthropic AI a “supply chain risk” and halts Trump’s ban on federal use

A judge has blocked the Trump administration from labeling Anthropic a supply chain risk and cutting off all federal work with the artificial intelligence firm, an early win for Anthropic in its bitter feud with the government over AI guardrails.

U.S. District Judge Rita Lin on Thursday ruled in favor of Anthropic, which sued the federal government earlier this month for taking actions that it called an “unprecedented and unlawful” attempt to punish the company for First Amendment-protected speech.

Lin’s ruling prevents the government from enforcing its supply chain risk designation against Anthropic, which aims to stop private government contractors from using the company’s powerful Claude AI model. It also halts an order by President Trump for every federal agency to “IMMEDIATELY CEASE all use of Anthropic’s technology.”

The judge wrote that her ruling does not stop the Trump administration from taking “lawful actions” that were allowed beforehand — so it does not necessarily mean the government must use Anthropic.

“For example, this Order does not require the Department of War to use Anthropic’s products or services and does not prevent the Department of War from transitioning to other artificial intelligence providers, so long as those actions are consistent with applicable regulations, statutes, and constitutional provisions,” she wrote.

Lin stayed her order for seven days, giving the government an opportunity to appeal.
