For nearly 60 years Sen. Lamar Alexander dedicated his life to public service. He joins Inside Politics to reflect on all he’s seen, and how much has changed—the subject of his new book, “The Education of a Senator.” He says the arrival of “digital democracy” in 2008 “drove all politics to the extremes and left people who are center-left and center-right without anyone to vote for.” His prescription: use social media to get more people involved in primary season to get better nominees.
