U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Saturday at the Munich Security Conference, saying that President Donald Trump “wants a solution that ends the bloodshed once and for all.”

“Met with Ukrainian President @ZelenskyyUa on Ukraine’s security and deepening defense and economic partnerships,” Rubio wrote in an X post in which he shared a photo of him shaking hands with the Ukrainian leader. “President Trump wants a solution that ends the bloodshed once and for all.”

Earlier Saturday, Zelenskyy revealed he had spoken with Rubio and Trump envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner ahead of talks in Geneva, which he said his government expected to be “truly productive.”

“I had a conversation with envoys of President Trump @stevewitkoff and @JaredKushner, ahead of the trilateral meetings in Geneva,” Zelenskyy wrote on X. “We count on the meetings being truly productive.”

Zelenskyy said they also discussed “some developments following the meetings in Abu Dhabi, which were held at the end of last month and the beginning of this month.

“Not everything can be shared over the phone, and our negotiating team will present Ukraine’s position next week,” the Ukrainian president added.

After the Abu Dhabi talks, Zelenskyy told reporters the U.S. had set a June deadline for Moscow and Kyiv to strike a peace agreement.

“The Americans are proposing the parties end the war by the beginning of this summer and will probably put pressure on the parties precisely according to this schedule,” Zelenskyy said at the time, according to The Associated Press.

Zelenskyy added at the time that if the June deadline is not met, the Trump administration would likely put pressure on Moscow and Kyiv to meet.

On Saturday, he also thanked the U.S. for its “constructive approach” to ending the war.

“We greatly appreciate that America consistently maintains a constructive approach and is ready to assist in protecting lives,” Zelenskyy wrote. “I thank President Trump, his team, and the people of the United States for their support.”

Rubio on Saturday also said he had discussed peace between Ukraine and Russia at the Munich Security Conference with his G7 counterparts.

“Met with my @G7 counterparts in Munich to advance @POTUS’s vision of pursuing peace through strength,” Rubio wrote. “We discussed ongoing efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war, promote stability in Venezuela, and address global threats to achieve international peace and prosperity.”

The talks between the U.S., Russia and Ukraine are expected to start Tuesday in Geneva.

Casey Wasserman, 2028 Olympics chair, to sell talent agency after name appears in Epstein files

Casey Wasserman, the chairman of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics organizing committee, says he is selling his eponymous talent agency in the wake of the release of emails between himself and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Wasserman’s emails with Maxwell were revealed by his appearance in recently released government files on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Wasserman, whose agency represents some of the top pop music artists in the world, has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

The recently released documents revealed that in 2003 he swapped flirtatious emails with Epstein associate Maxwell, who would years later be convicted of helping Epstein recruit and sexually abuse his victims. Wasserman said in a Friday evening memo to his staff that he has begun the process of selling the company, according to a company spokesperson who provided the memo to The Associated Press.

Wasserman’s memo to staff said that he felt he had become a distraction to the company’s work.

“During this time, Mike Watts will assume day-to-day control of the business while I devote my full attention to delivering Los Angeles an Olympic Games in 2028 that is worthy of this outstanding city,” the memo stated.

The memo arrived days after the LA28 board’s executive committee met to discuss Wasserman’s appearance in the Epstein files. The committee said it and an outside legal firm conducted a review of Wasserman’s interactions with Epstein and Maxwell with Wasserman’s full cooperation.

The committee said in a statement: “We found Mr. Wasserman’s relationship with Epstein and Maxwell did not go beyond what has already been publicly documented.” The statement also said Wasserman “should continue to lead LA28 and deliver a safe and successful games.”

Los Angeles leaders have called on Wasserman to resign as chair, but during a press conference last week at the Milano-Cortina Olympics, IOC Vice President Nicole Hoevertsz said she had “full trust” in Wasserman and his team.

L.A. Mayor Karen Bass said in her own statement she would defer to the board.

Wasserman has said previously that he flew on a humanitarian mission to Africa on Epstein’s private plane at the invitation of the Clinton Foundation in 2002. Exchanges between Wasserman and Maxwell in the files include Wasserman telling Maxwell: “I think of you all the time. So, what do I have to do to see you in a tight leather outfit?”

His agency, also called Wasserman, has lost clients over the Maxwell emails. Singer Chappell Roan and retired U.S. women’s soccer legend Abby Wambach are among them.

Wasserman said in his memo to staff that his interactions with Maxwell and Epstein were limited and he regrets the emails.

“It was years before their criminal conduct came to light, and, in its entirety, consisted of one humanitarian trip to Africa and a handful of emails that I deeply regret sending. And I’m heartbroken that my brief contact with them 23 years ago has caused you, this company, and its clients so much hardship over the past days and weeks,” the memo said.

Wasserman had also previously apologized in a statement released earlier this month, saying “I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell, which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light.”

In that statement, he added that he” never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.”

Tour bus driver indicted on homicide charges in deadly crash that killed 5 people

More than six months after a deadly tour bus crash in western New York killed five people, prosecutors filed charges against the bus driver.

Bin Shao of Flushing, New York, has been charged with second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide, according to court documents. Shao is accused of driving the bus — which was traveling toward New York City from the Niagara Falls — at high speed when the vehicle lost control on the New York Thruway in Genesee County.

The 56-year-old driver from Queens was arrested on Thursday, according to New York State Police. He appeared before a judge the following day and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

“There’s no evidence of driver alcohol impairment,” said Genesee County District Attorney Kevin Finnell said Friday at a news conference. “The charges stem from the decisions made and the actions taken by Mr. Shao as the operator of the bus on the New York State Thruway in Pembroke.”

When asked by a reporter if he can discuss any details about what Shao allegedly did wrong, Finnell said: “I can’t.”

The M&Y Tour Inc. bus was carrying 54 people, many of Indian, Chinese and Filipino descent, according to police.

The victims were identified as Shankar Kumar Jha, 65, of India; Pinki Changrani, 60, of East Brunswick, New Jersey; Xie Hongzhuo, a 22-year-old Columbia University student from Beijing; Zhang Xiaolan, 55, and Jian Mingli, 56. Both Xiolan and Mingli were from Jersey City.

Dozens of people were also injured in the crash. Police said at the time the cause of the crash was under investigation, but a mechanical failure and operator impairment had been ruled out.

Bail for Shao was set at $100,000 cash, $200,000 insured bond and $400,000.00 for a partially secured surety bond.

His next court appearance is scheduled for March 9, according to online court records.

After struggling early, U.S. men’s hockey team dispatches Denmark 6-3 in group stage of Winter Olympics

Jack Eichel scored off his own faceoff win a minute after setting up Brady Tkachuk’s first of two goals the same way, and the U.S. rode its top line to a 6-3 defeat of Denmark on Saturday night, keeping pace with also-unbeaten Canada for the top seed in the men’s hockey tournament at the Olympics.

The U.S. bounced back from goaltender Jeremy Swayman getting beaten by a shot from 95 feet away, just inside the center red line, 11 minutes in. Swayman won’t have to kick himself too badly for the blunder after some of his most talented teammates stepped up to make the long-distance goal from Nicholas B. Jensen and another soft one from Phillip Bruggisser with 2.6 seconds left in the second period moot.

The goals by Tkachuk and Eichel — two-thirds of the top line along with Brady’s brother, Matthew — midway through the second period tied it and gave the U.S. the lead. Defenseman Noah Hanifin added another when his shot got through Mads Sogaard and trickled over the goal line a bit later, providing some breathing room that proved necessary.

Jake Guentzel fired a one-timer past Sogaard with a little more than 12 minutes left, and Brady Tkachuk scored his second off a feed from Jack Hughes after Sogaard exited with injury and was relieved by Frederik Dichow.

Captain Auston Matthews made the pass to Guentzel, and Zach Werenski — who accidentally knocked the puck into his own net on Denmark’s first goal credited to Nick Olesen — had the secondary assist to get some retribution.

“U-S-A! U-S-A!” chants from the very red, white and blue crowd filled the arena at the opening puck drop and after all the goals. Some fans in the stands had flags of Greenland, in light of recent rhetoric from U.S. President Donald Trump about taking control of the semiautonomous island overseen by Denmark.

None of the geopolitics reached the ice, and multiple Denmark players last week downplayed any connection between the Greenland situation and the game against the U.S. as heavy underdogs.

After rolling over Latvia 5-1 in their opener on Thursday night behind two goals from Brock Nelson, the Americans have six points in the standings, the same as Canada, going into the final day of the preliminary round.

The U.S. wraps up round-robin play against Germany, Canada faces 0-2-0 France and if they each win in regulation, the No. 1 spot in the single-elimination knockout round would come down to goal differential.

Replacement crew docks at International Space Station, boosts numbers back to 7

A SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule with a crew of four glided in for a Valentine’s Day docking at the International Space Station Saturday, boosting the lab’s crew back to a full complement of seven one month after four other fliers came home early because of a medical issue.

The Crew Dragon docked at the space-facing port of the lab’s forward Harmony module at 3:15 p.m. Eastern Time, 34 hours after launch Friday from the Kennedy Space Center atop a Falcon 9 rocket.

“Grateful to be on board, and we’re ready to get to work,” radioed Crew 12 commander Jessica Meir, making her second long-duration stay aboard the space station.

Joined by veteran Russian cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev and two space rookies, astronaut Jack Hathaway and European Space Agency astronaut Sophie Adenot, the Crew 12 fliers opened the Crew Dragon’s hatch and floated into the station two hours after docking.

Amid hugs and handshakes, they were welcomed aboard by space station commander Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Sergey Mikaev and NASA astronaut Chris Williams. Those three were launched to the outpost last November aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft.

“Welcome to Crew 12,” Kud-Sverchkov said in a brief ceremony. “We are happy they all arrived safe and sound, we’ve been waiting for this moment for a very long time. We’re really happy and proud to work as a team here.”

Meir replied, “It is so wonderful to be back up here…You look around, the crew up here, and it’s really a testament to everything we do, we have so many countries represented, so many backgrounds, so many disciplines, we are so excited to be here.”

As for the trip up, Adenot, a veteran French air force helicopter test pilot, sky diver and SCUBA expert, said SpaceX gave the crew “quite a ride, very fun!”

“The first time we looked at the Earth was, wow, mind blowing,” Adenot said. “The Earth is so beautiful from up (here). We see no lines, no borders, it was a very big moment for us, for Jack and me, to see that for the first time.”

Meir and her crewmates are replacing Crew 11 commander Zena Cardman, Mike Fincke, Japanese astronaut Kimiya Yui and cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, whose early departure last month left the station with just three occupants: Kud-Sverchkov, Mikaev and Williams.

While the outpost can be safely operated by a crew of three, a single NASA astronaut cannot carry out a full range of NASA and partner agency research as well as required maintenance.

In addition, spacewalks, which require two astronauts using a buddy system, are ruled out.

NASA managers attempted to move up Crew 12’s launch by about four days to as early as Feb. 11 to shave off some of the time Williams would be the sole operator of systems in the U.S. segment of the space station.

But because of conflicts with work to ready NASA’s Artemis II moon mission for launch, along with high winds earlier this week along the Crew Dragon’s ascent trajectory, Meir and company ended up launching Friday.

With the addition of Crew 12, research in the U.S. segment can resume its normal pace and spacewalks can be staged as needed.

“Crew 12 is honored to join our Expedition 74 friends and colleagues…to add our chapter to the story of the International Space Station,” Hathaway radioed.

The rendezvous went off without a hitch. But earlier in the day, the crew held a private medical conference, or PMC, and said they might need a follow-on PMC after docking. They later confirmed they wanted a post-docking medical conference.

“We’re going to go forward with that plan, so if you could just have the (flight) surgeon ready for us after we get all docked we would appreciate that,” Hathaway radioed. Mission control replied: “We’ll be ready to support.”

Under strictly enforced medical privacy guidelines, NASA does not discuss astronaut health issues, and it wasn’t known what sort of issue might have prompted the request for a post-docking PMC.

About half the men and women who fly in space suffer nausea and related symptoms during their initial adaptation to weightlessness, but the discomfort typically abates after a few days in space.

王毅说，中欧是伙伴而不是对手，更不是什么“制度性对手”。中欧打交道半个多世纪了，这么多成果还不足以证明这一点吗？中欧每天贸易额超出建交前一年的总和，数百个合作机制不停运转，怎么忽然就成为“制度性对手”？这是一种负面思维，也是一个错误认知。如果继续渲染或炒作，将对中欧关系未来产生有害干扰和影响。

他说，中欧之间当然有差异和分歧，双方社会制度不同，价值理念、发展模式也不同，但这都源于各自的历史和文化积淀，是各自人民的选择。差异不是成为对手的理由，分歧更不是对抗的依据。正确的做法是，相互尊重、相互欣赏、相互借鉴，实现共同发展，共同照亮世界。

王毅说，中国有句古话，叫做“万物并育而不相害，道并行而不相悖”。两千年前的古人尚有这样的胸怀和包容，现代人难道还不如古人？孔子曾有过一句名言，叫做“君子和而不同”。是说在承认不同的基础上，寻求和谐相处的境界，这才是君子之道。中欧应该都行君子之事，走君子之道。特别是面对当前变乱交织的国际形势，中欧更应携起手来，共同践行多边主义，共同维护联合国权威，共同反对单边霸凌，共同抵制阵营对抗。希望中欧一起落实习近平提出的四大全球倡议，构建更加公正合理的全球治理体系，这应成为中欧共同努力的方向。
