“She has done nothing wrong and had no knowledge of any ongoing criminal activity on his part.”

Ruemmler was a practicing criminal defence attorney at the time of her interactions with Epstein, and ‌shared a client with him, Connelly added.

In February, David Solomon, the chief executive of Goldman Sachs, said Ruemmler had resigned from the role of chief legal officer. Ruemmler said in a separate statement she would leave the firm in June.

The departure of Ruemmler, once among the top executive officers of the Wall Street firm, is the most high-profile banking exit after the DoJ’s latest release of Epstein documents.
