Thirteen Democratic House members and candidates announced their support Thursday for a centrist initiative aimed at pushing back against the party’s tilt toward democratic socialism.
The announcement came two days after candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America won House Democratic primaries in New York, which followed last week’s victory by Janeese Lewis George, another DSA-backed candidate, in D.C.’s mayoral primary.
